A 24-year-old SouthAfrican police officer, Austin Luciano Reynolds has been found guilty for the murder of a Nigerian National in 2018.
The Nigerian Emeka Okoli was shot at close range in Durban, Kwazulu Natal in an unauthorized raid by the police officer.
Officer Reynolds while appearing before judge Shyam Gyanda was arraigned for one charge of murder and three charges of robbery, he was found guilty on all four charges.
The tide turned on the police officer when his accomplice in the raid turned state witness. His accomplice told the court that Mr Okoli was handcuffed, robbed and shot at close range by the officer, who was off duty at the time of the raid.
