The father of Jonh Terry has been arrested by British police for allegedly attacking his partner Evelyn Minkey.
Ted Terry was to have attacked his girlfriend during a late-night bust-up at the couple’s home at Chafford Hundred, near Grays, Essex.
The 65-year-old was arrested by police after Minkey pleaded with neighbours to “get him away from me,” during the fight.
42-year old Minkey was said to have fled the street yelling “He’s a psycho” and “Get him away from me.”
About twelve officers arrived at the scene and a shirtless Terry was arrested in front of stunned neighbours.
Mr Terry was seen struggling with officers and telling them to “Go away” and “Do yourself a favour, leave it alone,” according to the newspaper.
He was detained at the police station for 14 hours after his girlfriend suffered a cut finger. He was later released without a charge.
Ted Terry’s son John Terry plays for English premiership side Aston Villa.
