Now that all we have left to do is negotiate the play-offs and then see who is drawn with who in the group stage draw, next summer’s World Cup cannot come soon enough and, with just eight months to go until the festivities kick off in Russia, the leaks are coming thick and fast.
Now, ordinarily when the words ‘Russia’ and ‘leaks’ are said in conjunction with one another, you anticipate a story about political espionage or, more likely, the hot dog skinned dickhead who currently occupies the White House paying prostitutes to go to the toilet all over each other while he pulls his pud with his tiny orange hands.
Anyway, now that that inane segue is out of the way, let’s get onto a leak that won’t make you want to bleach your eyes to burn the mental images from your brain.
Let’s talk the official ball of the 2018 World Cup.
The Adidas Telstar 18, if it is indeed going to be confirmed as the ball that all your favourite players will be leathering around Russia next summer, is a work of absolute perfection. It’s an ode to great World Cup balls of tournaments past, primarily throughout the 1970s and quite frankly, I can’t wait to see it being pasted into all the top corners in Russia.
